Welcome to Reception!
A day in Reception
In Reception the children will take part in a range of different learning opportunities. They will have carpet sessions as part of the whole class or a large groups, where they will learn Phonics and Maths, find out about their current topic and listen to stories and sing songs. They will also work in smaller groups with adults within the setting. For a large part of every day, the children will be learning through play. The learning environment in Reception enables children to access a range of learning opportunities through play, both inside and outdoors.
Throughout the year, the children will enjoy exploring a range of topics, however we also respond to children's own interests and often use these as the basis for learning.
