PSHE
Intent Statement
At Kirkheaton Primary School, personal, social and health education (PSHE) enables our children to become well-rounded, respectful members of society. Our curriculum helps them to navigate through many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.
Through our high quality curriculum, we aim to provide our children with a range of lifeskills that will support them through their academic journey and beyond.
The PSHE curriculum is fundamental in supporting our children to be happy, successful, resilient members of society.
Relationship and Sex Education (RSE)
Intent Statement
At Kirkheaton Primary School, we understand the importance of educating our children about sex, relationships and their health, for them to make responsible and well informed decisions in their lives.
We understand that parents and carers are the prime educators for children on many of these matters. Our RSE curriculum works in partnership with our parents and carers, informing them about them about what their children will be learning and how they can support at home.
We aim to provide our children with high quality and age appropriate teaching to support their personal development and pastoral needs.
